Dr. Tamara Maule
Dr. Tamara L. Maule attended Lake Worth High School and graduated from Stetson University in 1985. She received her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1989, graduating cum laude. She has been practicing in South Florida since then.
Dr. Maule is married to David, her husband of 22 years and they have a son Zachary who attends Palm Beach School for Autism. Because of her experience at home, she has become especially understanding and patient in examining the special needs population.
Dr. Maule is an active member of the Palm Beach County Optometric Society as well as the Florida Optometric Association. She has served as a Clinical Examiner for both the National Board of Examiners in Optometry as well as the Florida Board, and was appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida to serve on the State Board of Optometry.
Dr. Tracy Kimmelman
Dr. Kimmelman is a graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003 from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale. She completed a Residency in Primary Care at Nova Southeastern University in July 2004.
After completing her residency, Dr. Kimmelman went on to be the Clinical Director of TLC Tampa for 2 and a half years, then relocated back to South Florida and joined Dr. Lessner at Millennium Laser Eye Center in January 2007. Dr. Kimmelman also specializes in Primary Care Optometry and has been in practice with Dr. Tamara Maule since October 2009.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Florida Optometric Association, and has had the honor of serving as Secretary of the Broward County Optometric Association. Dr. Kimmelman is happily married and mom to 2 beautiful little girls.
Dr. Catherine Batton
Dr. Catherine Batton, who specializes in contact lens fittings and ocular disease management, graduated with a Bachelors in Biology and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. She grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where her family still lives. One of her passions is working with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, a non-profit organization on a mission to bring vision to every person on the planet. When she is not working, you can often find her on a road trip, with her camera.
Dr. Yitz Warshawsky
Dr. Yitz Warshawsky was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After graduating from high school, he moved to the United States. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Brooklyn College in New York, and then graduated from Suny College with his Doctorate of Optometry degree. After graduation he and his family moved to South Florida, where he works at the Rand Eye Institute a few days a week.
Dr. Warshawsky has been in practice with at Dr. Maule and Associates since 2017 and enjoys the variety of patient cases. He has been married for 19 years, and he and his wife enjoy South Florida with their three children.

Dr. Ira Berman
Dr. Ira Berman was born in Leningrad, Russia and grew up in San Francisco, California. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Barnard College in NYC and her Doctorate of Optometry from SUNY State College of Optometry in 2004. After graduation, Dr. Berman relocated to Boca Raton, where she was the leaseholding eye doctor at Sears Optical the Town Center Mall for nine years. Now that the Sears location has closed, she is very excited to have joined her practice with Dr. Maule & Associates, and is happy to welcome her former Sears patients to their new and technologically updated location.
Over the past several years Dr. Berman has provided eyecare in Nicaragua, Mexico and China by participating in OneSight, an organization dedicated to providing eyecare for low income populations world-wide. Dr. Berman speaks fluent Russian and Hebrew, and loves to practice her Spanish. Her hobbies include audiobooks, the gym, and spending time with her husband and five children.
Dr. Carl Carter
Dr. Carter was born in Des Moines, Iowa and raised in North Miami Florida. He attended The Ohio State University on a swimming scholarship, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiological Optics and a Doctorate of Optometry degree. After graduation he served in the Army at Fort Belvoir VA., then moved back to Florida where he enjoyed a prosperous practice in Delray Beach for 37 years.
Dr. Carter was married for 40 years & raised 2 beautiful daughters. He sold his private practice in 2005 and lost his wife the following year. He has since remarried and enjoys tennis, golf, and world travel, and recently returned from an amazing trip to Africa.
